Dr. Norman H. Godwin

Dr. Norman H. Godwin, CPA, is a Professor in the School of Accountancy. After serving eight years as Director of the School of Accountancy, Dr. Godwin was named Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in 2011. Dr. Godwin's research focuses on financial reporting and accounting choices and how these affect market prices.

He has investigated these issues in traditional financial markets as well as other unique settings such as betting markets. His research has been published in numerous journals such as Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance;Journal of Business Finance & Accounting; Journal of Risk and Insurance; Accounting Horizons, and Issues in Accounting Education. Dr. Godwin teaches financial accounting at the principles and Executive MBA levels. He has coauthored a principles textbook, Financial ACCT, and has won numerous teaching awards during his tenure at Auburn. Dr. Godwin has an active outreach program on financial literacy. His video series, entitled Enrich Your Life, has been used by a Fortune 50 company and has been broadcast by a Southeast-region television station. Sample videos can be seen at

Brian Bourdeau

Brian L. Bourdeau is an Associate Professor of Marketing. His research interests include services marketing, sustainability, and survey research methodologies. Dr. Bourdeau's research has appeared or is forthcoming in such highly regarded outlets as the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Service Research, the Journal of Services Marketing, the Journal of Nonprofit & Public Sector Marketing, the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship and the International Review of Business Research Papers.

His research has also been presented at numerous academic conferences, including the American Marketing Association Summer and Winter Educators' Conferences, the Society for Marketing Advances Annual Conference, the Frontiers in Marketing Conference, the Academy of Marketing Sciences Annual Conference, the Sport Marketing Association Annual Conference, The European Institute of Retailing and Services Studies (EIRASS) International Conference and the Academy of Marketing Science Cultural Perspectives in Marketing Conference.

Dr. Bourdeau is also an award winner in the classroom. He most recently received the 2007 MBA Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award for Elective Courses in the College of Business. Dr. Bourdeau is an ad-hoc reviewer for Psychology & Marketing, the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, the Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, and the Journal of Sport Management. He is also a co-advisor for the Auburn University Marketing Association (AUMA).

Dr. Bourdeau has consulted for numerous companies and associations, including the South Atlantic Professional Baseball League, the Florida Sports Foundation, the Professional Golfer's Association and Millsport Sports Marketing. He has also served as an expert witness on a number of business damages cases. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Marketing Science, the Society for Marketing Advances, and the Sport Marketing Association, and he has served as the vice president of communications and treasurer of the AMA Sports Marketing Special Interest Group.

Jennifer Cornett

Jennifer Cornett joined the School of Accountancy in Fall 2004 as instructor, and shortly thereafter became responsible for recruiting, internships and School of Accountancy scholarships. She also serves as the faculty advisor for Auburn’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter. In Fall 2013, she started serving as a lecturer in the School of Accountancy.

Cornett’s professional experience includes two and a half years in public accounting, three years in consumer lending, seven years in corporate lending and three years in banking. Cornett is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) in the State of Alabama and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of CPAs.

Dr. Lawrence’s current assignment is to build out a professional education initiative involving online education and non-credit offerings for the Harbert College of Business. At the beginning of 2015, he completed a six-year assignment building the Office of Professional and Career Development (OPCD) from the ground up to include facilities, technologies, services and staff. The OPCD staff included full-time, temporary, graduate and undergraduate student employees.

Prior to the OPCD, Dr. Lawrence served in the college as the director of corporate services, where he coached students and instituted career fairs, job assistance seminars and professional development sessions for College of Business students. He also conducted multiple employer development/employer relations visits in the summers for several years.

Academically, he contributed to the development and redeployment of BUSI 1010 and BUSI 2010 and has taught both courses many times. He created and taught BUSI 3010 Job Search Skills and COUN 2970 The Senior Year Experience. He also has taught introductory logistics, the professional development course for MBAs, and supervised the BUSI internship course.

For seven years, he was advisor to the Executive Society, the College of Business student host/leadership organization. His initial assignment in the College of Business was director of the Lowder Family Business Center, where he organized initial program efforts.

For 11 years, he worked in a variety of career services roles within the Auburn Career Center. His professional affiliations have included the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and the Society for Human Resource Management. In 2008, he completed the NACE Management Leadership Institute program. Additionally, he was PHR certified by the Society for Human Resource Management from 2009-2011. His previous experience includes sales in the consumer foods industry and working as a firefighter.

Kevin Mossholder

Dr. Mossholder has published numerous articles in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He has served on eight journal editorial boards, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Organizational Behavior and Organizational Research Methods, and has reviewed for the National Science Foundation.

He is a fellow of the Southern Management Association, the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association, and he is a member of the Society of Organizational Behavior. He began his career at Auburn University and served on the faculty at Louisiana State University before returning.

Terry Self

Terry Self has been an adjunct instructor at Auburn University since 2014, teaching such courses as Compensation and Employee Benefits, Selection and Placement, and Organizational Behavior. She has earned the HR Certification Institute’s PHR certification for human resource professionals. She received her Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Troy University and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama.

Her research has been published in refereed publications and presented at professional conferences. One of her papers was named by the Journal of Development and Learning in Organizations’ editorial team as a Highly Commended Paper in the 2016 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence, and another was named Best Paper at the 2015 International Academy of Business Disciplines Conference in Orlando, FL. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Southern Management Association.

Keven Yostf

Dr. Yost's main research and teaching interest is corporate finance, including corporate governance, bankruptcy and financial distress, diversification, and mergers and acquisitions. He is published in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Corporate Finance and has reviewed articles for the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Banking and Finance and more.

Prior to working at Auburn, Yost taught both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Miami and Purdue University. He is a member of the Financial Management Association and the Eastern Finance Association.

Regina Halpin

Regina Halpin received from Auburn University the B.S. degree in applied mathematics in 1988 and the M.Ed. and Ph.D. Degrees in secondary mathematics education in 1990 and 1994, respectively. In 1993, Dr. Halpin served as the first Outreach Coordinator at Mississippi State University where she developed a program in the College of Engineering that is still in place today for K-12 outreach between the university and regional schools. In 1995, she joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and was then promoted to Associate Professor. During her tenure at Mississippi State University, she taught research design and evaluation graduate courses and conducted research and professional developments on the effective use of technology and the impact on learning. Dr. Halpin’s involvement in professional organizations led to her serving in the leadership role of President of the Mississippi mathematics and technology organizations. For the past 15 years, Dr. Halpin has served as an independent consultant conducting program evaluations and assessments with an emphasis on the use of technology as a teaching and learning tool for the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Human Sciences, Sciences and Mathematics, and Poultry Sciences at Auburn University. Through her research efforts, Dr. Halpin has generated numerous refereed journal article, conference presentations and proceedings, and grants on implementing technology-based learning and assessing the impact on teaching and learning for students. She is currently teaching Business Analytics I and II at Auburn University.
